Wyeast Middle School Reviews

Great school i have 2 kids there

As a former student of wy'east I was very satisfied with the schools standards. I also thought the food was exellent you must also satisfied the students with what your feeding them. I currently live in California and I wish I could come back to Washington. The staff as well was very helpful to me and my parents. When we needed to know something the staff in the office knew what we needed to know and that helped very much. My former counsler (Mr. Ted Grimsted) was very helpful to my parents and I. I miss the school very much. So that is my review I was and still am satisfied with the school.

I think WY'east middle school is a lovely school. My daughter passed all three sections on the W.A.S.L thanks to her teachers preparation before the students took the test.

I had two children attend this school. One of my children spent a year here and found it to be okay. Nothing to write home about. He never involved himself in anything so that may have been part of the disappointment. My middle child now attends this school and despite having a very rocky 6th grade year is doing ten times better this year. My suggestion before attending this school is to go in and speak with a principal about your child(ren). Tell them what kind of student you have, their strengths and weaknesses, their future plans, their interests, and what you'd like to see for them regarding education. IF you will take the time to do that they can tailor make your child's schedule to fit their needs. Aside from academics there are plenty of after school clubs. Also, violence isn't an issue at this school.

WyEast has lots of potential, but does not fulfill it at this point. There are many programs for music and athletics, but it seems that too often the focus is put on those areas instead of academics. My child's core classes were used to practice learning how to score high on the WASL for up to 3 weeks prior to the test. (When you use the word 'because' in your scientific answer whether it was correct or not you score a point!) One highlight...my child's 8th grade math teacher was a good teacher that taught well and created a quality learning atmosphere.

My son is now in the 6th grade & was kinda nervous about going to a 'middle school'. However since the first day of school, everyone from the office staff to the kitchen staff to the teachers themselves have done a superb job at guiding my son through the sometimes hard transition of growing up and going to the 'scary middle school'. The best part about Wyeast to me as a parent is the 'whole' schools ability to openingly communicate with us parents, but also with our childern. So, I know that a huge 'thank You!' due to all the wonderful people at my son's middle school!

I never know what is going on at school like after school things, games, music, or fun events. This is the first time that I have got something from the school.... no mailers, no emails I feel out of the loop.

Middle school children are at a challenging age...Wy'East understands both the academic and social aspects of middle schoolers...and does a great job of offering choices and personalized attention...even with a large student body enrollment.

I have one child at wy'east and one more going there this year. I really like the school and I have to add my son's teacher is the best! Mr.Minor has been a wonderful teacher and I really appreciate all he has done:).
